Tell us about yourself/your business

Born and raised in Australia and now living in London, England. I'm a freelance designer and front-end developer by day and Notion obsessive by night. Okay fine, a Notion obsessive by day as well, let's be honest.

I have a keen interest in helping others so started getting involved in Notion’s community-run Facebook group, subreddit, and Discord server, the latter two which I now help administrate.

The plan going forward is to continue helping others establish systems that work best for them in all aspects of their life.

How did you first hear about Notion?

I can't remember exactly how I found out about it, but I do have a feature release email from 2015! (The big announcement in that email was.. the sidebar.) I started using it much more frequently around the 2.0 release in 2018 when we were gifted with those glorious databases. I've been an avid user ever since.

What's the one feature you're dying to see in Notion?

More powerful formulas, including the ability to use them inline. A close second would be actions, being able to automate things based on property changes.

Can you share a template with us that you love?

I’m a sucker for unconventional Notion templates, so David De Bels‘s Pokédex still holds a place in my heart. I like using Notion in a similar way, gathering information about stuff like the London Underground or YouTube food shows. I really should get outside more.

I recently started an experiment of recreating templates from other apps in Notion and I definitely had fun with the dog breed selector and personal wine tracker.

How can people find you?

I can always be found hanging around in the subreddit, Discord server, and Facebook group. All of my Notion resources are available at notion.bensomething.com. I'm bensomething in all other corners of the web, like Twitter.
